“If you can walk you can dance, If you can talk you can sing”- African Proverb

Our lessons start with simple vocal exercises, basic breathing techniques and addressing posture. Once the basics are introduced we will move on to a short unaccompanied vocal piece. Here we will learn timing (learning rhythms and staying in time) and intonation (staying in Key-at the correct pitch). This has proved an excellent way for us to develop a student’ vocal ability as well as helping them to gain confidence. Now we are ready to start singing with a piano backing or backing tracks. Having addressed simple but important foundations we can embrace our ability having fun with our favourite songs.

Our lessons are traditionally based focusing on developing a strong technique. We always suggest Abrsm vocal examinations to assist students progression, while they are not the only way to become a musician the pieces are expertly placed allowing students to experience a wide genre including folk, classical and theatre.
